Announces the Promotion of John McSweeney to COO
Custom Computer Specialists, Inc., Long Island’s leading privately
held technology solutions provider, announced today the promotion
of its Senior Vice President, John McSweeney to Chief Operating
Officer (COO).
As COO, McSweeney will be responsible for overseeing the company’s
day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives reporting directly
to Gregory Galdi, Custom’s founder and CEO.
Becoming the company’s 50th employee, McSweeney joined Custom
in 1992 as Manager of Consulting Services. In 1994, he was promoted
to Vice President of Client Services and again to Senior Vice President
in 1998. During his tenure at Custom, McSweeney has been instrumental
in the solution design and quality assurance for the majority of
the company's largest solutions/clients. Overall, he has made a
significant impact in growing the Company's service business and
personnel to currently well over 200 technical personnel and over
300 employees in total. Additionally, McSweeney was a driving force
in the successful re-engineering of the company from a Computer
Reseller with approximately 5% of its overall revenues coming from
services to a full service System Integrator with approximately
$70M/year in revenue of which approximately 75% comes from services.
McSweeney’s impressive background includes years at Andersen
Consulting (now Accenture) where he worked on a number of large
customer engagements and ultimately ended up consulting to Andersen’s
in-house consultants on necessary LAN/WAN architectures upon which
to run large System Implementations.
McSweeney holds a Bachelors of Science degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic
Institute and currently resides with his family in East Setauket,
NY.
